"Varudu" Sees Demolition of Popular Theater!

A popular theater in Hyderabad since 1970, Sudershan 70MM at RTC Cross Roads is being demolished for constructing a Commercial Complex in its place.  The theater management has shut its operations since May 23 and is planning to replace ot with a five storied commercial complex. However, Sudershan and Devi 35MM will continue screening movies. The concept of single screentheaters is slowly fadinng awayas the audience seem to have taken liking to multiplexes instead. We have been incurring losses since last four years and it has been decided to replace it with a commercial complex to generate revenues, says the theater's management. Navin Nischol and Rekha starrer "Saawan Bhaadon", which ran for over 100 days was the first film to be screened in this theater, while Allu Arjun starrer "Varudu" being the last to be screened has been abruptly taken off the screen for demolition.
