lazybugger Posted October 22, 2015 Author Report Posted October 22, 2015 certain tamil politicians like Vaigo make anti lanka statements on regular basis, so u r saying he is an outsider to tn politics? yes. Vaiko is a fringe politician. He'll never double digit seats. Shiv Sena is not a fringe player in Maharashtra. The trouble in TN is, the govt is undecided whether people want such protests or not, inspite of proof election after election that anyone who makes Srilankan issue their big agenda hasn't gained much from it. So the govt. plays safe by taking the side of those who protest. But if Chennai is banned, and there is a public outcry against it, the govt can atleast know which side of the bread is buttered. If the people don't care, then Chennai doesn't have to host any matches. Its just a sport anyway. Its not beyond politics. Don't forget SouthAfrica was banned for a number of years for political reasons. If that is right, this is right too.
lazybugger Posted October 22, 2015 Author Report Posted October 22, 2015 We dont mind moving Superkings to amaravathi good riddance.
lazybugger Posted October 22, 2015 Author Report Posted October 22, 2015 Although I hoped the Chennai crowd would be more creative and put up banners during the match, insulting Sangakkara, Jayawardane in a cheeky manner to lodge their protest.
lazybugger Posted October 22, 2015 Author Report Posted October 22, 2015 Vaiko is popular because he was with DMK. Then he broke off. and got stuck with srilankan issue. Now, no one cares for him.
lazybugger Posted October 22, 2015 Author Report Posted October 22, 2015 Its perfectly fine to let cricketers (country's ambassadors) know that their country's politics sucks. cricketers need not be protected from politics. They are not gods.
