yeah docs ithe anthe... but if ur name is not there on ur wifes PP and if u and ur wife have different last names and different address, then it might cause some delays.

in some cases, they might even ask for some other address proof.

Passport wont take much time . it would be max  5 days but you need to get affidavit from Indian embassy. to get that it will take 3 to 4 weeks

 

you need to fill couple of docs/notarized and your original passport need to be send to consulte

 

you again need to send original affidavit to India while they are applying passport

 

dont apply with out affidavit that they wont accept application with out that.. i tried and it did not worked.

Few important things you need to do - 

 

 

1. First name your kid in hospital itself and get that recorded in hospital. You should do this because, hospital will send the kids record directly to the Municipal office (you need to keep checking with Hospital and Municipal office on this)..and once it is received by Municipal office, you need to apply for kids birth certificate. This part is time consuming (it may take anywhere between 15 days to 2 months) ..

 

2.Once you have birth certificate, you can proceed for passport. I am assuming you and your spouse names are endorsed on each others passport. If yes, then getting passport becomes very much easier..

 

3. Apply for passport under tatkal and for kid no police verification. Make sure you carry Kids photo (check the photo dimensions in passport site)..you can apply for passport online, its very convenient..no need to go to broker or anything..
