Spartan Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Days after a national report surfaced saying San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is isolated from the rest of his teammates, head coach Jim Tomsula addressed the supposed turmoil surrounding his team. A report released Sunday by Fox Sport’s Jay Glazer said Kaepernick is “on an island in that locker room” and “his confidence is completely shot.” Tomsula told reporters Wednesday morning he hasn’t seen any conflict and his team’s morale remains intact. “I would tell you right now I don’t see an island at all,” Tomsula said about the 27-year-old. “I see a lot of interaction. You know, I see the guys interacting.” Tomsula also said he doesn’t know where speculation about the 49ers’ chemistry is coming from and Kaepernick hasn’t shown any difference in demeanor. “I’ve been here the whole time he’s (Kaepernick) been here and it seems like this has been what’s gone on with him since I’ve been here ,” Tomsula said. “You know, it’s always something. I mean I guess that’s what goes on when you’re the quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers.” Tomsula has made it clear there are no immediate plans to bench Kaepernick, despite the team’s 2-5 record, including an embarrassing 20-3 loss to rival Seattle Seahawks on national television last Thursday night at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. To improve communication among staff and players during meetings, Tomsula has ordered the music sometimes heard blaring throughout the locker room and practice field to be turned off. “What happens, the frustration thing. I felt a frustration there. We all do, I’m not going to lie about it,” Tomsula said. “We had a tough stretch there and you get frustrated. What I don’t want is all that pent up then we start having boom, boom, boom. So I want to be in front of that before anything comes up in that way. Communication is going to help us get better.” The team signed Kaepernick prior to the 2014 season to a seven-year, $126 million contract. The 49ers are on the road this Sunday to face the St. Louis Rams.
