T-Hub. India's Biggest Incubator.

Recommended Posts

there are maker spaces in bangalore, mumbai, chennai.

they are just for hobbyists. coming up with a finished consumer/enterprise hardware product for a greenhorn is next to impossible. There are some accelerator programs that may help the entrepreneur come up with the product.

But by the time his product hits the market, he would have burned up plenty cash, or given up more than half his stake to those who help him.

Software incubators like t-Hub are dime a dozen. Hyderabad itself probably has a couple by now. I don't understand why people are hyping this.

ni yavva . evadina oka company start cheyali ankunte they dont have to worry about office space , internet etc. You can just pay for the desks walk in with your laptops and start working. If you have an idea and can impress you will find investors. You can also get technical help from IIIT, Business related questions from ISB and patent related help from NALSAR. Its a great place to make your dreams come true. i personally worked in a start up company and we faced too many issues both technically and business issues

Got it .. thx

They are not imbibed in culture man.... here children make stuff by the time of 10 yrs age ! I was literally awestruck when a father was explaining how his child made an electronic lighting board that summer.  Now that doesn't need money, there are people with ambition and they end up in USA but there are USA companies opening only their 'software' branch in India, they are not motivated enough that Indians can do some firmware stuff

Here in India kids learn whether Kareena married Saif etc... that true to the core.. my aunt had to shift from Mumbai to Hyd for the same reason...

I know one nice startup called butterflyfields in Hyd, looking forward for someting like them

well, I teach my nephew to make small windmills now. he's only 5. We are going to build a small logic circuit pretty soon for him.

anyway, building such stuff will not prepare you to make usable consumer products. maker spaces will not create any revolution in India. There are already such spaces in Bangalore, Mumbai and Chennai, but nothing much will come from it, apart from hobby products people can make for themselves.

US/Canada has already lost the art of making stuff to China. This is true.

Unless India gets 100s of thousands of such small scale manufacturing boom, no product of worth will come from India.

personally I think learning to make circuits and stuff before mastering maths is not very rewarding in the long run.

but then, not everyone can master maths. but everyone can learn to design and manufacture hardware products.

again, making industrial grade consumer products is a whole other zone, that no amount of hobby electronics designing can prepare you for.

Software incubators are overrated, and are often unnecessary these days.

A decent mentor is more than enough.

Some idiot here brought in y-combinator here to compare.

the startups that y-combinator houses include companies that work on exotic technologies like quantum computing.

Yea I agree, I am talking about the doable 1-2% why should they simply go out of country without even giving a try. If you think US lost to China that's laughable... China is just a copy cat and reverse engineer that makes hasty products with less sustainable designs, but then they came to a position where they can stop running and think better. Every developing and developed country has foot prints all over the world, we are the only ones who tries to grab the leftover sh!t

okay. I think you have no idea what you are talking about.

All US/Europe products. almost every hardware product in Kickstarter takes help from Chinese accelerator programs to come up with the finished product to the market.

Even Y-Combinator has an accelerator program in China, where the entrepreneurs must spend an year designing, redesigning, perfecting their product. No product gets made in the USA now.

Without China's help, there would be no hardware revolution in the world right now.

Having an incubator in Hyd is a good idea. But its advisable to go about this without the needless publicity like calling it the 'biggest'. Any investor worth his salt will only laugh when someone calls an incubator the 'biggest'. It reflects poorly on those who market these things.

Nanotech, photonic components are an exception. They are made in the US/Europe.

i completely agree with you. Mana deggara pedda pedda companies kuda indian it companies mida depend aitaru. US la chinna budda size company ki kuda IT department untadi and they develop and maintain their own stuff. i wonder indian big companies like BHEL, ONGC, Indian Railways, NTPC own a IT department themselves.

They have to go out, because every iteration of their product while in design stage will take longer if they stayed in USA/India/Europe.

In China, they can get their product to the market faster. There's the issue of your design being copied by your local partners, but that is a tradeoff for speed.

If India wants to be a hub like China, it should have 100s of thousands such small manufacturers ready to copy, steal, innovate their way into survival in the EMS business.

Then, Indians can develop their products in India itself.

Dude mass manufacture by China is not the the solution here...

lets go back to 1970s..Who invented transistors - ATnT Bell labs ? Who made electronic chip designs, logic gates, microporcessors ? Do you think Arduino, Raspberry Pi are made in China ? They are British and Italian.... Qualcomm, Broadcomm were not Chinese... Apple - Designed in California, still better than android ! See how Tim Cook is playing with market by shifting game to 64 bit processors...

Do you know who invented frequency hopping CDMA  used in Bluetooth ... Hedy Lamarr... and she is an actress

If you think kickstarter is real game changer hahaha I will certainly keep smiling...
