Swarnamukhi river in Chittor district of AP is overflowing after 13 years. Heavy rains have been lashing the district from the past 48 hours, due to effect of Cyclone Rovan that crossed the coast near Puducherry in Tamil Nadu, last night. The residents of some colonies, close to the river, performed pujas and worshipped on the riverside. They expressed joy to see the river brimming with water. Though low-lying areas in Tirupati were inundated, the people of the drought-struck region were happy to see water gushing everywhere
