Nearly 170 tourists, mostly Americans, have been taken hostage by terrorists, at Hotel Raddisson Blue in Bamako, capital of Mali in West Africa. Two gunman entered the hotel, using firearms. They locked the tourists in and were attempting to take nearly 30 of the hotel staff as hostages. The American Embassy in Mali has been informed. Security around the hotel has been tightened. Gunshots and explosions can still be heard from inside, locals said. The terrorists are suspected to be of Boko Haram group.

  9 dead in terrorists attack in Mali hotel: Mirror

 

Mirror news agency as reported that nine persons have died in the terrorists attack on Raddisson Hotel in Bamako, in Mali of West Africa. The dead were largely French and Belgian nationals. Rapid exchange of fire is going on between the security forces and the terrorists. The security forces are afraid to plunge right into the scene as it would harm the hostages, it is learnt.

  15 hostages freed after reading Quran in Mali hotel

Fifteen hostages, who were able to read the Quran were freed, in the hotel in Mali's capital Bamako. Nearly 170 tourists and 30 staff members, have been taken hostage by suspected ISIS or Boko Haram terrorists, in the hotel. Three persons have been allegedly shot down for not being able to read the Quran, it is learnt. A majority of the hostages were presumed to be American tourists.
