Majority will go towards relief materials. And for overtime payments to corporation workers. Some for repair works, and the rest for rehabilitation.

 

Since there's very little concept of insurance, majority of the damage will have to born by the people themselves. Even State govt. is not obligated to cover people's losses, except as a vote grabbing mechanism.

 

I think people should stop donating now.

 

I hope TN votes Jaya out in the next poll for her thoughtless flood management. I doubt any other govt would have done better, because its a case of damned if you release the water before the rains (chances of drought), and damned if you don't (chances of floods).

adhi okay. But the assholery of comparing how much people donate towards a relief fund is just too much.

 

Whatever they donate, the state govt to an extent, and the people who are affected will bear the majority of cost of rehabilitation.

 

I'm more moved by people who have worked on the ground in the rescue operations, especially. relief works could've done with better coordination.

 

I refrained from telling people that most relief works (outside of state govt's work) were redundant, because of lack of coordination. 

 

the post mortem of this disaster will probably teach people to be more coordinated next time. I'm sure govt will be more coordinated. But I'm not so sure about private people indulging in relief works.
