I understand the hypocrisy behind saying no to pork festival. Their idea is to piss off Hindus, not muslims. The only thing I don't understand is, why regular Hindus don't cede social space to oppressed castes? If they had ceded it, nobody would be organising such ffestivals. before you mention reservation as one of the compromises Hindus made towards oppressed people, I think its not enough. Let them have the festival. Kompalu emi munigi povu ga. They'll feel that they have asserted themselves and walk away. And may be organize more such festivals. Beef will become common in India. economy will probably improve. Who knows.

Let them first successfully organize beef festivals, with even brahmins lining up to enjoy the meal. pretty sure pork festivals are the next on the agenda, once this is done.
