Appaji Posted December 20, 2015 Report Posted December 20, 2015 Important Notice: It has been brought to the attention of Northwestern Polytechnic University officials that false reports are being disseminated by certain media outlets and other groups that Northwestern Polytechnic University has been blacklisted by the United States government. These reports are absolutely and completely false. Northwestern Polytechnic University officials have spoken with a U.S. Customs and Border Protection representative and it is the representative’s understanding that no U.S. government agency has “blacklisted” NPU and that there is no general order for U.S. Customs officers to refuse entry into the U.S. by NPU students. Due to the recent attack in Paris, stricter customs screening measures are being applied to all travelers to the U.S. Therefore, NPU strongly urges that you please make sure to bring with you all necessary original documentation in order to make your customs screening as smooth as possible. If you are an incoming student for Spring Semester 2016, please bring the following documents: 1. Passport and visa; 2. NPU issued I-20; 3. NPU acceptance package; 4. Proof of financial independence or support; and 5. Proof you qualify to study in the U.S., such as your degree certificate and transcripts. If you are a continuing student planning to travel abroad during semester break, please bring the following documents: 1. Passport and visa; 2. NPU issued I-20 (SIGNED); 3. Certificate of Attendance; and 4. Proof you are studying at NPU, such as an NPU transcript. University officials have heard that students are specifically experiencing difficulties with Air India. The university is reaching out to Air India corporate officials and U.S. embassy personnel to resolve this misunderstanding as soon as possible. If you plan to travel by Air India, we suggest that, if possible, you postpone your trip while university officials clear up this issue with Air India. Should you have any questions or concerns, please email [email protected]. Best, NPU Administration

Appaji Posted December 20, 2015 Report Posted December 20, 2015 Northwestern Polytechnic University (NPU) was founded by Dr. Ramsey Carter and Dr. Barbara Brown on January 2, 1984 and incorporated as a California nonprofit, public-benefit institution. Responding to strong demand in Silicon Valley for qualified engineers, the School of Engineering began granting Bachelor of Science degrees in electrical engineering in November 1984, followed by the Master of Science in electrical engineering in 1985. NPU opened the Computer Systems Engineering programs at both the bachelor's and master's levels in 1987. February 23, 1989 marked a milestone for the university as NPU attained full institutional approval from the California Department of Education.
