Do they ask ID card when we sit down to play blackjack at casino,(bally's)Atlantic city?

Dealer asked me to show my ID , then na dagra temporary Driver's License  undi, 2 months back (sep 2015)

 expire ayndi.. Adi chupiste manager  ok annadu.. Then I was allowed to play blackjack

 

I encounter this situation regularly at restaurants , ID lekapote they are not serving drinks..ID chupiste drinks serving..idi common but why even at tables in casino?

Why do they ask ?
