JANASENA Posted December 30, 2015 Report Posted December 30, 2015 The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, run by the GMR group, has today become the first Indian airport to offer the facility of e-boarding to domestic fliers. Inaugurated by the Union Civil Aviation Minister, Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the facility incorporates all process, from the entry to the terminal to boarding the aircraft. A flier now needs only his/her Aadhar card number or a mobile e-boarding card for entry to the airport terminal. The facility eliminates the need for manual stamping of the boarding passes. All key processes that is, entry to the terminal, check-in, the security check, the boarding gate check, the boarding bridge check, and boarding the aircraft, are incorporated into the e-boarding facility. The passenger has the choice to use either the Aadhar card number, or a photo id. The facility is welcome as a solution which aids a more convenient and efficient procedure.
