New TATA SAFARI's in CHANDRABABU convoy

Finally, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu could get from the Rosaiah government what he could not get during the five year rule of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government: new cars.

The Rosaiah government on Friday granted eight new Tata Safaries to Naidu’s replacing the eight Ambassador cars which had outlived their utility.

The TDP president’s convoy will now have eight new Safaris, including two bullet-proof ones for himself, two for Black Cat Commandos of National Security Guards and one each for pilot, intelligence, patrolling and for carrying a Jammer. The governmet had approved even a new jammer for his car, which would neutralise any remote control device in the vicinity.

Naidu had made several requests in the past to change the cars in his convoy because the cars were very old and frequently came under repairs. There were many occasions when Naidu’s car broke down midway during the tours and he had to take another car, risking his security.

As an Opposition leader, Naidu enjoys Cabinet rank and Z Plus security.
