i think it varies on many things ... its not that easy to distribute south indian movies in USA>..

 

Theater Rents are expensive so does buying the boxes overseas and if the movie is a super hit they make good money but if its a bad /avg movie or an online print comes ... they don't even make 50 % of what they buy the print for.... and so in order to make that loss in previous movie they get the next movie and increase prices to make up for the loss....hoping they make up the money but these days u know how many movies are good ...only a hand ful...like Bahubali ...and worse thing is piracy.. it effects alot in USA than in INDIA

 

when you compare to US movies ..people love to go to theaters... So US really doesn't care the pricing on the ticket...

 

FYI i am no distributor but one of my friend told me as he uncle does distribution ...
