8 arrested in anti-piracy drive in AP

Hyderabad: As many as eight film pirates have been arrested in different districts of AP. The anti-piracy wing of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has also stepped up vigilance to detect any piracy as four big budget films are releasing on Sankranti. On Wednesday , NTR Jr-starrer "Naanaku Prematho" released.

 

According to Akella Rajkumar who heads the anti-piracy wing of the film chamber, piracy could be prevented for two films released this year - "Nenu Sailaja" and " Abbayi tho ammayi". That is because of the arrest of members of the piracy syndicates which were operating in different districts.The crackdown with the help of the Andhra Pradesh police led to the arrest of eight people.

 

They include K Ravindra of Railway Koduru, Mohan Kumar of Nandyal, Purna Chandra Rao of Guntur, Sekhar Naidu of Anantapur, P Vijay Kumar S Jayadev O Kondala Rao and Gopi of Vijayawada. Police are also looking for members of the syndicate including Bhaskar of Tirupati, Venkatesh of Nellore, Puvvadi Rajendra of Bangalore, Subba Reddy of Vizag, Ramudu of Tuni, Ravi of Guntur, Vasanth of Bangalore and Subbu of Nellore.
