Just now landed from india after a vacation in sfo airport. I am on contracting on H1B.
Not even a single questiom asked. He just stamped and gave my passport.
So all those fear mongering threads on H1B deportations is false and you can happily go to india and come back.

But the line to immigration was so big and i could see students, H1s, B1s and GC guys. Not even a single person was held for secondary screening nor did i see anyone being sent back.
All i am saying is dont be fearful even if u are in contracting. Just go prepared with docs.
Unless u are working for a shady consultancy which might have been blacklisted i dont see any reason to fear.
