lazybugger Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 was vivekananda against a particular caste? This is the problem with people here. If I was to say plainly. They are dumb. or they are extremely intelligent and would go to any lengths to justify the current power structure. What Alexander said, in the other thread is absolutely horrid. All those 100k+ posts, and he still pretends to take the middle road. He should have the guts to accept that he's an uppercaste asshole. Among the worst in here.
lazybugger Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 was vivekananda against a particular caste? Vivekananda didn't fight against the current system, but glorified it. To the eyes of an oppressed, he is also an oppressor. Its not easy for people who don't even know what their 'caste' is, to understand what oppression is. So the better thing to do is to not laugh at people who claim they are oppressed. Btw, anyone who claims they don't know what their caste is, is an upper caste guy/girl. Because if you are lower caste, you'll be reminded of it.

You can count me in as dumb. I had a doubt and asked for some pointers.
Enjoy99 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 nenu cheppanu avasaram ledhu. Look at both sides of the arguments and draw your own conclusions. Plenty of information on what happened, everywhere. I said you can't be what he was. He was a budding scientist, cum revolutionary. Its not easy to be both. He could've taken the easy way out, praising vivekananda, kalam, and joining abvp. It takes incredible bravery to stand with dalits in an environment that is against them. In every possible way. A life is lost & that's sad .. I don't know why you should compare me with him .. This is where u loose your cool in the dB

Was vivekananda aware that his glorification was also leading to oppression or was it that he was interested in oppression only to labell it as glorification?
lazybugger Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 A life is lost & that's sad .. I don't know why you should compare me with him .. This is where u loose your cool in the dB like usual, you misread what I said. One guy, Alexander, sat in judgement over Rohit. It was meant as a jibe at him. Not just Alexander, ofcourse. dasara bullodu, etc. I can't be bothered to read all those nonsense comments. I don't have to lose my cool to say what I say here. Nobody has made a convincing argument against what I said, except silly references to my loser attitude.
lazybugger Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Was vivekananda aware that his glorification was also leading to oppression or was it that he was interested in oppression only to labell it as glorification? dude, they are not attacking vivekananda, but the idea of vivekananda. What gets propagated using his name. It is important to attack it, if they feel that it is harmful to them. who are we to decide what they should or shouldn't attack?

I don't read everything that's out here .. & till now I haven't taken any side in this topic

He seemed to have problems with his own association for not taking up the unification of Dalit seriously

I don't read everything that's out here .. & till now I haven't taken any side in this topic You would know if you read what I said. Since you asked me what a particular phrase meant, I gave the literal meaning of what I said. It doesn't mean that I directed it at you, because in the original sentence, I used it to explain what others are doing. I should have used that phrase in brackets, on hindsight. Poor punctuation like always. s0rry.

I'm just pssed off at people who bring up Yakub, Vivekananda, kalam, to make high school level arguments to disparage a guy who was more accomplished than they will ever be.

How did you come to that conclusion?
lazybugger Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 How did you come to that conclusion? simple. Anyone who makes an argument that he's anti national because he supported Yakub, without caring to understand why, is an idiot. Rohit is a JRF, so he's not an idiot. not idiots >>>> idiots.
lazybugger Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Anyway by3. I can't be bothered to read comments that castigate me now. I'm pretty sure there won't be a single one worthy of a response.
