In fact, the exact opposite is what happens every time everywhere. The choice for a person is already made by their birth, be it religion, caste, language or region. With this choice, the people then automatically start arguing for their side. It would take a very broad intellect to neutralize both the sides in the mind and look objectively at both. 99.99% of the time, although not literally, the party that forms the government DOES NOT matter and NEVER affects the day to day activities of a person or a family. You wake up, wear your mask and go to work and come back. One government in a matter of 5 years can NEVER change your life. Think about it. To the people that are furiously fighting here, let me ask you: Will it matter? Will anything that you talk here matter?

Modi won this time. Congress might win next time. Somebody else might win the other time. Is your life changing? Your identity is yours, as long as others also respect that boundary. You should try telling western colleagues to not refer to you as 'Indian'. Not everybody can. Indian society is a million times worse.
