We are truly idiotic. I'll tell you with an example.

Say a person A met a person B in a different country other than India (Timeline - Zero)

Fortunately both of them are from India.

Then they drill a level further down - "North or South". If they are from different regions, they wouldn't feel as good as they felt at Timeline Zero. Basically now the rapport is down by 50%.

If they are from same region, they drill another level down - "State" and then "Region" and finally comes the mother of all - "Community".

Now, where does "Idiocy" come into picture? Well, firstly, we just don't stop siphoning out all the details. Secondly, we immediately influence our rapport with the other person based on the proximity relative to us.

This may not apply to all( definitely doesn't apply to me) but this is how most of us Indians are! Those who have this community feeling may never treat others well wholeheartedly thus practically distancing from 99% of the Indians(other communities) and they still have the guts to say that they are Indians. You can't love most of the Indians but miraculously they love INDIA. Wow!

No offence to those "sensitive" people but I'm speaking my heart out. Please knock some sense at least to the next generation.

Actually its the other way around. In a casual encounter, you are nicer when you know that he's not from your caste, region, state.

may be out of curiosity, or just to feel good about your own liberal demeanor. :giggle:

GP. My only suggestion is try to avoid these kind of people in your circle. I did and I am happy even though I know I am left with just few friends now.
