I heard that there is a need of staying 1 year in India to apply/renew passport, is that true? what is the application process? how many days will it take?

megadheera Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 India lo renew is lot easier than here. I did it in India. Tatkal lo 3 days lo intiki vachindi passport. Ikkada bls vaadu chukkalu chupichadu renewal ki.

Hyderabad ayithey DCP office Ki velli signature cheyinchali and then they might ask you where are you staying and if they find out if you are staying in USA for last one year ... They might ask for additional documentation ...

Paddy Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 I did my renewal in india last year march. Old passport, aadhar card/address proof and if married marriage certificate to add spouse name in your passport. Submitted on thursday, passport delivered on monday (tatkal).

They might ask for additional documentation ... I did last year in Tatkal. They did not ask any of these. It was very smooth
