Senior Journalist Arun Sagar Passes Away

Senior journalist and Editor of TV 5 Telugu news channel, Arun Sagar, passed away on Friday after prolonged illness.

Forty eight-year-old Arun Sagar breathed his last in a corporate hospital in Ameerpet. Hailing from Bhadrachalam division of Khammam district, Sagar did his early schooling in Khammam district and completed his post-graduation from Andhra University. Popular poet too, Sagar penned over 1,000 poems. He began his journalistic career with a Telugu magazine and went on to work in leading Telugu dailies in his over 25 years of journalistic career. He shifted from print to electronic journalism and created a niche for himself. He was instrumental in the launch of at least three Telugu news channels. Cutting across party lines, politicians led by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his AP counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu, senior journalists and poets condoled the untimely demise of Arun Sagar.
