Going to India via Abhu dhabi , suggestion

I am planning india trip in July , plan is to visit Dubai for 3 days before we go to India , but better deals are with Etihad  which stops in abu dhabi 

Question is how do we get VISA , do we call the Etihad airways to provide transit visa and can i use that visa to visit Dubai also ? 

can i fly from dubai  if i get my transit visa from abu dhabi ???
