I disagree. he is the one who introduced different style of filming. not those stereotypic movies where hero heroine love and family problems... what is the base for you statement

its a wrong comparision... evari style valladi... mani style lo mani is the best.. rgv style lo rgv is the best... no one said only mani can direct movies.. it is said that he is the best( thing to be understood is he is best in his genre of filming).

but k vishwanadh is as good as mani ratnam... but still mana AP lonay telsu aayana ante....

but Mani Ratnam adapted well and k vishwanath couldn adapt like him....

Maniratnam is now a veteren director who can boasts of his previous movies. He is best director in 90's .But as of now he can compete with new talented directors .just media is creating hype for his movies every time bcos of his 90's super hits. Even Guru is commercially average hit movie. Tamil factor helps him nation fame. if he is telugu guy then he would be like Viswanath (known only to local people).
