Commonsense is overrated.

Spending some time reading up, working on something, and mastering it, is the difference between whether you end up with expertise like Martin Eberhard or end up as glory-hunters with commonsense, like Elon Musk, and Jack Dorsey.

If you are satisfied with commonsense, you better be a billionaire like Elon Musk so you can show off your commonsense, or a mass murderer like Modi, so you can get elected as one time PM.

For the rest, its better if one works on being a master at something, anything.
