25 YEARS FOR MEGASTAR’S GANGLEADER

The film that marked the complete and utter domination of Megastar Chiranjeevi in united Andhra Pradesh, Gangleader, completed 25 years today. Chiranjeevi had many blockbusters before and after but it is Gangleader that is seen as the movie that turned a new leaf in the stardom. It made Chiranjeevi the universally lovable star, across all segments and all areas that we come to know about.

From the music by Bappi Lahari, remember the song Vana Vana remixed by Charan for Rachcha, to the dialogues, who can forget “cheyyi choosava entha rough ga undo”, to action and emotion, everything came together to make Gangleader, starring Chiranjeevi and Vijayashanti and directed by Vijaya Bapineedu, a perfect masala entertainer.

Then number one heroine Vijayashanthi acted maximum number of films with Megastar Chiranjeevi than any other heroine. She paired up with Chiranjeevi in 19 films. 'Pasivadi Pranam', 'Yamudiki Mogudu', 'Athaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu' and 'Gang Leader' stood as industry hits in the rocking combo of Chiranjeevi and Vijayashanthi apart from many blockbusters and super hits. 


Chiranjeevi's 1991's industry hit film 'Gang Leader' completes 25 years of its release today. Speaking about Chiranjeevi Vijayashathi said, " Chiranjeevi garu stands the best dancer in India even today. Even though some heroes dance well in this generation, Chiranjeevi garu's style and grace is unmatchable. When I was conferred the best actress award for 'Karthavyam' movie by the national awards committee, Chiranjeevi garu arranged a grand party that evening and invited Bollywood actors Govinda and Divyabharathi apart from his family members. I have never seen such an appreciation from others when a heroine gets an award."
