Description:

Responsible for strategically designing, developing, and implementing data models for enterprise-level applications and systems. These models will be architected at the following layers: conceptual, logical, business area, and application. The candidate is responsible for developing the logical and physical data model with a goal of balancing optimization of data access. The Data Modeler will perform analysis of data requirements, data profiling, and develop source to target mappings. Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and constructing data warehouses and operational data stores. The Data Modeler will be working with various teams to integrate data into the Mosaic enterprise data warehouse.

 

Education/Experience

 

·         The candidate must have 5 to 7 years' experience creating and maintaining data models

·         Experience facilitating requirements and design meetings, including resolution of conflicts over data processing strategies against business rule definitions

·         Experience in full lifecycle development

·         Experience designing and developing both logical and physical data models (Teradata target databases preferred).

·         Background in implementing and using naming standards to apply consistency to models

·         Experience in collecting and managing metadata

·         Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent training required

 

Skills:

 

·         Skill in performing data analysis to support mapping and transformation of data from legacy systems to physical data models

·         Hands on proficiency of Data Modeling Tools, Embarcadero ER/Studio preferred

·         Ability to profile an existing database using SQL to understand data inconsistencies and issues

·         Must be detail oriented, a quick learner, and a team worker
