Centre to give 41,000 Crores to TG for Power sector Development

Hyderabad: Centre is committed to providing Rs 41,000 crore to Telangana for power sector development and to improve efficiency of electricity distribution companies, transco and power generation corporation that will enable 24 hours power in villages, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said on Friday.

Special focus will always be there on the newly-formed Telangana state and therefore required funds for the power sector development are being provided, he added.

The proposed HT line between Wardha and Nizamabad will be completed as per the deadline. For the benefit of Hyderabad city, the HT lines will be laid up to Maheshwaram, he said.

He further said that all arrangements were being made for the foundation laying ceremony of NTPC power plant in Ramagundam (in Telangana), where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the function.
