AP Cinegoers' Association 32nd Annual Film Awards - 2001
About Function: The 32nd Cinegoers' Association Annual Film Awards function held at silpa kala vedika on 1st September night was a grand success. The guest list include a. Chief Guest - Honorable Union Minister - Sri U Krishnam Raju b. Inauguration - Honorable Minister for Home and cinematography - Sri Devender Goud c. Presiding - T Subbi Rami Reddy - MP The following are the highlights of the function. 1. For the first time Bala Krishna and NTR appeared together and shared the dais in any function. 2. The AP Cinegoers Association General Secretary Sri. Kishan pleaded Krishnam Raju and Devender Goud to reduce the rent of Silpakalavedika from 1 lakh per night to a nominal amount. 3. Krishnam Raju commended Balayya as a great human being with lots of respect towards elders by quoting his own experiences. 4. Dasari's gave an exciting speech that says - Bala Krishna is becoming a role model for certain roles and other heroes are taking him as example. Dasari reiterated his trademark statement that - A director can make 100 days, but no hero can make any director. 5. Telangana Sakunthala's dialogues from Osey Ramulamma and Nuvvu Nenu got maximum response from the crowds. 6. Gundu Hanumantha Rao came on behalf of Brahmanandam and Dharmavarapu Subramanyam to take awards. He emberassed the organizers - who are short of time - by taking the liberty of singing an old song. (there by wasting 6 minutes of time) 7. Kaikala Satyanarayana gave an emotional speech where is proudly told that he acted in 773 films out of which 101 films are done in combination with NTR. 8. When Bala Krishna gave best new hero award to NTR, he cried in public (click here for photo) while giving an emotional speech which says that he carried 30 kg worth papers to celebrate Balayya's Rowdy Inspector release. He also said that he broke three chairs out of joy after watching Samara Simha Reddy. 9. Balayya is conferred with 'NATA SIMHA' title by AP Cinegoers Association. During that time Dasari encouraged NTR to stand behind Balayya's chair. 10. Bala Krishna gave a humble speech which said that every hero has his own style. He can't do certain kind of roles done by other heroes and other heroes cant do trademark roles done by him. He thanked everybody including scientists like Thomas Alva Edison and other technicians. 11. Fans of NBK had a gala time by garlanding their favorite hero. Karnataka Statewide fans Association in the leadership of Manikya amazed everybody with their spectacular show. They brought a huge garland worth Rs 3,000-/ and five huge pots with flowers. They showered Balayya with flower petals for 5 minutes continuously. 12. This night belonged to Bala Krishna all the way. All the award winners and guests quoted that they like Balayya and Balayya is their favorite hero. This list of admirers include Teja as well. 13. Upcoming choreographer Raju enthralled the crowds with his dances to Lux Papa, Monna Kuttesinaadi, Chilaka Pacha Koka ( all from Narasimha Naidu), Rendu Jalla Papa (Seema Simham) andChick Chik (Aadi).
