Good News, Etihad agreed to operate International Flights from AP upon CBN's request

Here is good news for international travellers to and from Andhra Pradesh, who are forced to depend on the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, for their travel abroad.

 

International carrier Etihad Airways has agreed, in principle, to operate flights to overseas destinations from the three major airports in Andhra Pradesh — Tirupati, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. Etihad airways vice-president Vijay Poonoosamy responded positively to a request made by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to this effect.

 

Mr. Naidu, who is in Tianjin in China as part of the World Economic Forum meeting, met Mr. Poonoosamy and asked him to explore the possibility of operating international flights from the State. Mr. Poonoosamy responded positively and assured Mr. Naidu that the airways would apply for necessary permissions from the Civil Aviation Ministry soon.
