Malayalam films are so preachy, its annoying. Ee madhya urban based Tamil movies are also adopting Malayalam's universal style. It sucks.

Some Tamil movies are just insanely awesome. There's no telugu film that can be classified as insanely awesome. atleast I haven't seen it.

Aayirathil Oruvan, Aaranya Khaandam, Iruvar, Andha Naal, Subramanyapuram, Katradhu Tamizh, Jigirthanda.. inka gurthuku ledhu.

Tamil movies may have variety in themes, but treatment of it is with same old cliches. Telugu movies don't have to pretend to have a different theme.

I prefer movies where there is no central theme, and the story takes us in different directions based on the characters in it. I haven't seen such movies in Telugu.
