+1 almost same like south indians vaallu - they celebrate festivals such as deepavali and magara sankranthi (this is how they spell it in nepal too )

Some people are there who won't eat hen..sukumar used to have a rooster which is his best friend

 

He used to sleep.play with that rooster...

 

Sankranthi ki papam rooster ni family cook cheskoni tinesaru .. so he felt heartbroken.. never ate chicken again..

 

Cow is just family sentiment ..in kerala hindus eat cow and buffaloes.
