EarbiteNews Posted July 22, 2016 Report Posted July 22, 2016 The two major lift irrigation schemes in drought-hit Mahbubnagar district – Kalwakurthy and Nettampadu – were started during Y S Rajasekhar Reddy regime as part of Jalayagnam. By the time he died in September 2009, his government had completed 60 per cent of the project works and another 30 per cents works during Kiran Kumar Reddy regime. After the formation of Telangana state, in the last two years, the TRS government did not make any attempt on completing the remaining 10 per cent works, but focussed on redesigning of other projects. However, with the pressure mounting from Opposition, the TRS government has now started completing the Mahbubnagar projects. As part of that, Harish Rao inaugurated the Nettempadu second lift works at Jurala in Mahbubnagar district.
