తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వానికి హైకోర్టులో చుక్కెదురయింది. ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకువచ్చిన జీవో నెం.123, 124ను హైకోర్టు కొట్టేసింది. రైతుల నుంచి నేరుగా భూమి కొనుగోలుకు ప్రభుత్వం జీవో తెచ్చింది. ఈ జీవోకి వ్యతిరేకంగా జహీరాబాద్ వ్యవసాయ కూలీలు హైకోర్టులో పిటిషన్ దాఖలు చేశారు. దీనిపై తీర్పు వెలువరించిన హైకోర్టు, రైతులతోపాటు కూలీలకు పరిహారం ఇవ్వాలనే నిబంధనను ప్రభుత్వం విస్మరించిందని పేర్కొంది.

In a series of shocks to the Telangana government, the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday delivered the most painful one by striking down the 123 GO, under which the government was acquiring lands for the Mallannasagar reservoir project.

The case was filed by the project-affected people in Medak district, who argued that injustice was being meted out to them under the GO 123.

agreeing with the ousted people's contention, the court said the lands should be acquired only under the Land Acquistion Act of 2013.

The State government tried to bypass the Act and went ahead with the land acquisition. The goverrnment claimed to have acquired lands in 11 of the 12 villages by whatever means.

The High Court ruling was largely welcomed by various leaders. They included Jagga Reddy, Prof Kodandaram, Revanth Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy, DK Aruna and so on.
