Young Mega hero Sai Dharam Tej may be hailed as a hat-trick hero now, thanks to the back-to-back successes of Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham, Subramanyam For Sale and Supreme. Sai is also one of the highest paid heroes in the young generation stars.

However, there were days when Sai was penniless and had to struggle for money. In his latest promotional interview for Thikka, Sai recollected the dark days of his life and how his mother supported him in a crunch situation.

Apparently, Sai almost wrapped up the shooting of his debut film Rey and just started shooting for Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham. During those days, Sai had only Rs. 30,000 and he spent even that amount on his gym trainer and his brother and was going through difficult times.

When Sai's mother noticed him being dull and asked about it, Sai, who didn't want to depend on his mother by asking for her money, didn't tell her about his financial status and went out in his car for a meeting.

Sai then realised that he didn't have money even for car's diesel, but found 2 lakhs credited in his account. Sai immediately called up his mother who told him that she deposited the money as she felt he was going through some financial crisis.
