గోపి: మొదట్లో నేను క్రికెట్‌ ఆడేవాడిని. అయితే.. అప్పట్లో మా పిన్ని బ్యాడ్మింటన్‌ ఆడుతుండడంతో.. నేనూ మొదలుపెట్టా. కెరీర్‌ మంచి స్థితిలో ఉన్నప్పుడు.. మోకాలికి రెండు మూడు సార్లు సర్జరీలు జరిగాయి. దాంతో ఆల్‌ ఇంగ్లండ్‌ చాంపియన్‌ షిప్‌ తర్వాత పెద్దగా ఆడలేదు. మొదట్లో మేం ఆడేటప్పుడు.. కోచ్‌లు, స్టేడియం ఇలా ఏ సౌకర్యాలు సరిగా దొరికేవి కావు. దాంతో బాడ్మింటన్‌ అకాడమీ పెట్టాలని ఆలోచన తట్టింది. దానికి భూమి కేటాయించడానికి చంద్రబాబు సహకరించారు.. మాట్రిక్స్‌ ప్రసాద్‌ రూ. 5 కోట్లు ఇచ్చారు. చిత్రమేమిటంటే.. రాజశేఖరరెడ్డి ప్రభుత్వం అకాడమీలోని స్థలాన్ని వెనక్కి తీసుకోవడానికి ప్రయత్నించింది. కోర్టుకెళ్లి స్టే తెచ్చుకున్నాం. నిమ్మగడ్డ ప్రసాద్‌ కొంత వరకూ సహాయం చేశారు. తర్వాత ప్రభుత్వం దాన్ని విత్‌డ్రా చేసుకుంది.
