Hyderabad:  Tense situation prevailed at the Telangana Secretariat with employees of the social welfare department manhandling personal secretary of social welfare secretary Mahesh Dutt. The employees accusing the latter of harassing women employees.

The irate employees dragged Srinivasa Rao, who is the personal secretary of Mahesh Dutt and assaulted him. They said he was harassing employees on issues pertaining to service and leaves. Though he has been warned several times to mend his ways, he continued to harass the employees, they alleged.

However, sources revealed that the issue has regional overtones and is being seen as a case of Andhra employees vs Telangana employees. Srinivasa Rao is from Andhra Pradesh, the sources said.
