No such things happened Special status is only with NE states & Uttarakand, J &K, Himachal Pradesh.

No special category status for States anymore 

The Union Government on Friday informed the Parliament that there is no provision for according special status to any State any more.

This comes at a time when Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has renewed his long-standing demand for special category status to Bihar, ahead of the Assembly elections.

Responding to repeated demands in the Lok Sabha during Question Hour, Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation Rao Inderjit Singh said there is no policy anymore for according special category status to any State.

"What can be done instead is provide special economic packages," he said.

Okka saari GST document + 14th financial commission guidelines choosthey telusuthadi, govt. is legally obligated to do away with special status. Renditini state govts eduru kuni untey, chance undedhi special status ki. ippudu ledhu. GST cannot work if big states like AP, Bihar, Orissa are given special status.

It will create severe imbalance with majority companies moving into these areas. Happened with Pondicherry in the early 2000s. That too, appudu VAT regime undey. so intra state taxes anna osthu undey. GST lo ela untundho oohinchalemu.
