Although NTR has always been considered as big hero in terms of popularity and stardom, his last films didn't do well.While Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas have established their positions well, NTR was lagging behind. And Allu Arjun has replaced NTR’s position with consecutive hits.

NTR and his fans started worrying over his movies not crossing Rs 50 Cr share mark, while Allu Arjun was routinely delivering Rs 60 Cr movies.The massive success of “Sarrainodu” has made Allu Arjun even stronger. So he himself started believing that he is next only to Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu.

But now NTR has once again proved that he is bigger star than Allu Arjun and showed his true potential.

“Janatha Garage”  turned out to be one of the all-time biggest hits in Tollywood and is still drawing good collections. Allu Arjun’s “Sarrainodu” has succeeded mainly in AP and Telangana and to some extent in Kerala. But the film was a flop overseas and other areas.On the other hand, NTR’s ‘Janatha Garage” not only performed strongly in two Telugu states it also did well in Kerala with the Malayalam version thanks to the presence of superstar Mohanlal. With this NTR also made inroads into Allu Arjun’s territory.

Also NTR has consistently shown that he is next to Mahesh Babu in terms of popularity in overseas. His “Temper”, “Nannaku Prematho” and “Janatha Garage’ all have grossed more than one million dollars and he became only Tollywood hero to have collected 1.50 million dollars with two consecutive films in USA.

With “Janatha Garage”, NTR has silenced all his detractors and proved his true business market and also shown his advantages. This is why Kalyan Ram the other day said this is “guba guyyamane” hit. Now, Allu Arjun is not considered as third or fourth biggest hero. NTR is strong hero to contend with. This is worrying Bunny, say the sources. His immediate goal is to increase his popularity in overseas market further although his last films performed well in USA, he doesn’t have a two-million dollars movie like NTR, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas have.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal did two straight films in Telugu in quick succession. Manamantha in which he played the lead role was a huge flop despite the critical acclaim. Janatha Garage went on to become one of the highest grossing movies in the history.

Mohanlal has been getting many more offers from Telugu cinema industry, but he decided to stay away from Tollywood as he is currently going great guns in Malayalam cinema.

His recent Malayalam release Oppam went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.

Both Manamantha and Janatha Garage failed to create any buzz in Kerala in spite of Lalettan’s presence.

Mohanlal expected these films to do well and took Malayalam dubbing rights as his remuneration. He is not happy with the performance of both the movies in his home ground.

@NTR Effect  He decided not to do other language films for a while as his straight films are performing exceptionally well in Malayalam.
