Dont drive the car to State B with same number plates. It will be a criminal offense as per the rules of DMV.

I would suggest don't even drive that car to State B without getting the number plates from State B.

Get a rental car and drive to State B DMV office with the title and get the number plates. Once you get the number plates, drive back to State A and then come to State B with new  number plates with relax mind.

Note: you really don't need to take the purchased car to the DMV office for getting number plates and registration. Just original title  is good enough
