India close to become ‘water scarce’ country, says Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti

The per capital water availability in India has been on continuous decline which has put India in water stressed category and is close to being categorized as water scarce. The vagaries of climate change are expected to exacerbate the situation.

The World Sustainable Development Summit in New Delhi where the Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on water resources development and management with the European Union. “The holy rivers of India are getting exhausted of their natural ability to sustain themselves due to pollution from various sources.

1947 lo India population 350 million, today it is 1300 million.

India's  land size is still the same, water resources stayed the same.

Thats obvio man...... There's limit to everything we have. With economy & population growing our needs will grow even more.
