naaku oka friend unnadu vaadu phd chesadu oka 20 paper published he got job in CDC and then applied gc on own got it a- pproved in 6 months - on the other hand another friend veedu kuda phd chesadu 2 paper published from diff univ - veedu after phd 2 yrs bench meeda unnadu didnt get job, opt aipotundi ani he applied for IT and got a job and h1 luckily - later on tried for GC and didnt get!!! it depends on under what professor and what journals you are publishing and how many actually found it useful for their research (this is known as citings in scientific language)  they say 100 citings are good - ee 100 citings manaki 1 year lo raavocchu or 10 yrs lo raakapovocchu - its all connected - having said that I do appreciate your sense of keen to help other mates around, just thought of voicing my insight certainly not to be confused with a derogatory post ...

For EB1 extraordinary ability, USCIS defined 8 criteria, and one had to meet atleast 3 critiera out of it.

Reasearch publications is one of the criteria. And still you need to meet atleast 2 other criteria.

atleast 50 citations are needed, and you need to provide documentation which shows that you reviewed and judged others work.

another criteria must be a critical lead role and you need to prove that you are paid high salary which shud be 90th percentile of others earning in the same field.

EB1 they do lot of scrutiny, and if anything stated above is missing, they will reject application upfront.
