I don't think curry smell is a big problem in Hyd to be honest. Reason is that our houses are usually very well ventilated and have an exhaust fan that takes away all the smells of cooking. The problem with curry smell in US is because most of the apartments often have poor ventilation and exhaust systems, thereby the smell lingering around long after the cooking is done.
