The neighbouring Telugu speaking Andhra Pradesh maintained sixth position in farmers suicides. As per the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) survey -2015, the total number of farmers suicide cases reported in Telangana was 1,358 and 516 cases were registered in AP. In 2014 also, Telangana stood second with 898 farmers suicides and AP also occupied six rank registering 160 suicide cases. According to the NCRB report, Maharashtra had registered the highest number of 3,030 farmer suicide cases in the country. Karnataka, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh had occupied third, fourth and fifth ranks in farmer suicides reporting 1197cases, 854 and 581 cases receptively. The total number of farmer committed suicides in the country were 8,007 , out of which 7,566 were male and 441 were female. The report attributed 'bankruptcy or indebtedness' and 'farming related issues' are reported as major causes of suicides among farmers and cultivators in the country. The report also explained that 27 suicides in Maharashtra, 20 suicides in Telangana and 13 in Andhra Pradesh were committed by farmers due to 'poverty'. Out of 1358 cases, 160 farmers were committed suicides due to illness in Telangana. In a startling revelation, 79 large farmers , out of 160 in the country, alone committed suicide in Telangana followed by Chhattisgarh with 37 cases. bodi gadi lavadalo schemes debbaki... numbers may grow by 3-4 times for 2016 and 2017..
