Long term ante you need the following below 1) Strong development skills in Java or Scala, preferably both 2) Big Data knowledge including Hadoop Ecosystem plus Apache Spark 3) Knowledge of Cloud implementation including AWS, OpenStack and Azure 4) Test driven development and it's understanding 5) Work with version controlling tools like GIT, build automation using Jenkins/Teamcity and release automation as well 6) Configuration management using Chef, Puppet and Ansible 7) Knowledge of ETL and tools for analytics like Tableau. 8) Knowledge of MongoDB or a noSQL database, not knowledge but expertise.
