server_sarvam Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 What Changes you want to see in India? common disco start seddaamuu 1) Education : We have been trying to follow the education which the Britishers left behind. All these text books and stuff show that the english medium of education is better than our own. Hence we find the current people grow up hating many Indian Culture at the cost of liking western cultures. We should take some pride in the Indian Culture and progress that to the next level. Vedic Maths is more powerful than the normal maths taught at schools. Yoga is better than the PT that is there in the schools. In nursery, we seem to start liking the Montessori way of teaching, when we have a better Gurukul system languishing. I am not saying to stop the science and other forms of education we are having now. I am just saying to include Vedic maths, Yoga, Gurukul system, etc in the education space. At Present, Everything is about rote memorization, leading to behaviour which encourages cramming and forgetting rather than life long learning. Extreme pressure from parents / society to use education for financial security = CSE degrees for programming jobs or medicine. Societal pressure to get into the "right schools", not only for the education aspect but to ensure good job/ marriage prospects, in general success in life. Little incentive to take risks and follow own interests or encourage creativity. Generally conformist culture, which makes educational achievement the only thing that matters to social standing. Few opportunities and flexibility to cross over into different streams of education. The quality of in-service and pre-service training that teachers in low-income schools, government schools and mid-income schools is practically non-existent. So the idea of professional development for teachers doesn't exist which leads to stagnancy in the profession. And there is no incentive system anywhere across India to motivate teachers to perform better. Teacher professional growth/incentive should be a single function of student achievement data. There is a gross lack of accountability for teachers on how the students perform. 2) Reservation: Reservation implementation in education, jobs and fee deductions after scrupulous and genuine examination of economic status of applicant 3) Stop the Divide: We have been dividing a lot for political gains. Caste, religion, language, region and what not. This has to stop. No reservation, but merit only. No religion based policies but nationalized policies. No region bias, but India as one. If possible, everyone, and I repeat everyone should be made to believe in One India, national anthem, etc. 4) Language: Hindi has to be made the national language. Why? Coz it is the language understood by the majority of the people. It is also similar to quite a few different languages. If we have to aim for a united India, nothing unites better than a unified language. We have been fighting a lot on preventing Hindi, at the cost of popularizing English. So, in many states and places, they absolutely hate anything related to Hindi, but their sign boards and placards will be in English and their language. Why? By this are they not supporting a foreign language. This in return, is creating a greater divide. Or by supporting English, are they devaluing their own language? No? How will supporting Hindi as the official language devalue their language? We have been co-existing for long and we can co-exist together. It is quite clearly a political agenda to create a divide and nothing else. Language binds a society, and a common language will bind India. 5) Corruption: 6) Media: 7) Transport: 8) Strict Rule Amendment: 9) Agriculture: I will edit this post day to day, by adding your views. Android_Halwa Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 For education, stop spending billions each year for primary and secondary education and stop funding government infrastructure. Handover thee xisting government education infrastructure to provate players and government should be limited to forsee conducting examinations and course sylabbus. Everyo ther aspect, govt shoul not involve in. Make a compulsory rule that every private school should enroll at least 20% of the class strength from below poverty level and govt should compensate for the financial ;loss suffered by the school so that more equality is maintained in the school. The right to universal basic education should be increased from primary level to secondary level and the country should consider anyone who is done with 10th class atleast as a literate. for any government job, minimum qualification should be 10+2 abolish government schools and give the same money to private players and local players to run the institutions..
