Look I know this is against Indian spouses , but I have to agree with this move...
I came to US as a student after having killed myself for good grades in Engineering, then prepare for GRE and TOEFL and get good grades and then file expensive applications for US universities... Once I got selected, then had to go for Visa approval at US embassy , which everyone knows doesn't guarantee success. Once I got the visa, came here as a student, worked hard in college both academically and campus jobs... Graduated with good grades, only to be rejected by companies because I only had 29 months OPT.. Meanwhile an H4 spouse, who did not go through any of the above mentioned problems, was awarded the position simply because, through her husband she had a work permit for 6(3 3) years... And then a desi consultancy trained her as a system admin in 2 months and put her in job... And then there is the JCPenny/Walmart jobs which the low educated americans do.. Even those jobs are taken by H4 spouses... why??... H1 itself provides grade 1 salary... Why do H4 spouses need to work.. I have noticed Americans who earn $40K live a much open and happy lives than Indians earning $90K.. and desi guys still want their spouses to work... Come on people.. Enough with the greed...
