అలనాటి మేటి నటి సావిత్రి జీవితకథ ఆధారంగా రూపొందుతున్న మహానటి రిలీజ్ డేట్ ఎట్టకేలకు ఫైనల్ చేసారు. మే 9న ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా విడుదల చేయనున్నట్టు వైజయంతి సంస్థ ఆ మేరకు రిలీజ్ పోస్టర్  ఉగాది సందర్భంగా ఆన్ లైన్ వేదికపై ఉంచేశారు. నిజానికి అనుకున్న టైం కి అన్ని పూర్తయ్యుంటే మహానటి ఈ నెల 29నే విడుదల అయ్యేది.టైటిల్ లోగో రిలీజ్ చేసినప్పుడు ఆ మాట చెప్పారు కూడా. కాని కొన్ని అనివార్య కారణాలు షూటింగ్ లో జరిగిన జాప్యం ఎన్టీఆర్ పాత్రకు సంబంధించి ఏర్పడిన సందిగ్దత ఇవన్ని ఆలస్యానికి దోహదపడ్డాయి. మొత్తానికి ఓ నెలన్నర ఆలస్యంగా డేట్ ఫిక్స్ చేసుకున్న మహానటి కోసం తెలుగు సినిమా ప్రేమికులు ఆసక్తిగా ఎదురు చూస్తున్నారు. వాళ్ళకు తెలియని సావిత్రి జీవితాన్ని ఇందులో చూడొచ్చనే అంచనాలో ఉన్నారు.

మహానటి విడుదల తేదికి మరో ఆసక్తికరమైన నేపధ్యం ఉంది. 1990లో ఇదే వైజయంతి బ్యానర్ లో వచ్చిన జగదేకవీరుడు అతిలోకసుందరి కూడా అదే తేదిన విడుదలైన చరిత్ర తిరగారాసే విజయాన్ని అందుకుంది. ఆ సమయంలో ఉమ్మడి రాష్ట్రం తుఫాను తో అతలాకుతలం అవుతున్నా వసూళ్ళ ప్రభంజనం కొనసాగి బ్లాక్ బస్టర్ హిట్ గా నిలిచింది. చిరంజీవి శ్రీదేవి కాంబోలో ఎవర్ గ్రీన్ మూవీగా మిగిలింది. ఇప్పుడు అదే రోజు మహానటి రావడం కాకతాళీయమే అయినప్పటికీ బ్యానర్ కున్న సెంటిమెంట్ పరంగా స్పెషల్ గా అనిపిస్తోంది. అప్పుడు నాన్న అశ్విని దత్ నిర్మిస్తే ఇప్పుడు కూతురు స్వప్నా దత్ బాధ్యతలు తీసుకుంది

విడుదల తేదిని పురస్కరించుకుని కొత్త పోస్టర్ వదిలిన మహానటి టీం అందులో కీర్తి సురేష్ సైడ్ యాంగిల్ కట్ తప్ప ఇంకేమి రివీల్ చేయలేదు. విజయ్ దేవరకొండ - నాగ చైతన్య - మోహన్ బాబు - ప్రకాష్ రాజ్ - సమంతా - శాలిని పాండే లాంటి క్రేజీ కాంబో తో  తెరకెక్కుతున్న మహానటిలో ఎన్టీఆర్ పాత్ర గురించి మాత్రం ఇంకా సీక్రెట్ రివీల్ కాలేదు. నాగ అశ్విన్ దర్శకత్వం వహిస్తున్న ఈ మూవీకి మిక్కి జే మేయర్ సంగీతం అందిస్తున్నారు.
