Migration depends on which tier and application you want to do. 

In general ga read this https://aws.amazon.com/cloud-data-migration/

in specific ante- purely depends on application type, dependencies, scale, connectivity, security, complexity, etc. mostly enterprises choose their front end to migrate to cloud. They initially do A/B testing by sending only 5%-10% traffic to cloud. Initial ga hybrid model, slowly in 12-24 months lo they migrate to cloud
