A gang of three spoilt brats run their over a man and they are trying to get away from cops. Gautham is a newly appointed cop who assists Deepak with investigation. When they are about to crack the case, they are brutally injured in a fatal accident. Rest of the story is what exactly happened on that night.Artists PerformanceActors: Veteran actor Rahman rediscovers himself with this film with a phenomenal performance. The realistic characterization by the director helps him to give a balanced outlook to it. He has two get-ups and both are nicely done. His body language and nuances make us travel along with the character. The dubbing voice has also helped his characterization. Prakash Vijayaraghavan is impressive as an enthusiastic new recruit. Director Karthick Naren did a cameo as a short film making student. All actors appear authentic.. Technical departments Story - screenplay - direction: A story like this needs a good screenplay to work. Debutant director Karthick Naren has made sure that there is suspense in the film till climax by revealing very little information at regular intervals. The flashback style of narration also worked well. As the title ‘16 - Every Detail Counts’ suggests there is a lot of detailing in the film and you might miss something if you don’t follow the narration with a lot of concentration. Director hasn’t deviated from content and made sure that there is no deletable scene. Other departments: It's a difficult task to compose background score for such kind of investigative films and it’s fresh. Cinematography by Sujith Sarang is excellent. Dialogues by Sivarama Prasad Gogineni are apt. Editing by DI by Sreejith Sarang is good. Sri Tirumala Tirupathi Venkateswara Films banner (producers of surprise blockbuster Bichagadu) has made sure that the dubbing standards are good and promoted it aggressively despite limitations for this genre. Analysis: 16 EDC is a dubbed version of Tamil multiplex hit Dhruvangal Pathinaaru. Crime thrillers have the unique advantage of going well with audiences if narrated with interesting screenplay and if they have a surprising ending. 16 EDC has good screenplay, perfect casting and a nice twist in climax. It’s a good watch if you have an appetite for investigative crime thrillers! Quote
