Batman_fan Posted April 2, 2017 Report Posted April 2, 2017 Disclaimer - Don't bother to read if you think all hiring managers are desis who are unethical and if you think there are no other jobs than IT with vendor as one of those desi IT firms. This is for someone who wants to apply for job in big firms where no politics involved in hiring. 1. Research the industry and organization. 2. Clarify your "selling points" and the reasons you want the job. 3. Anticipate the interviewer's concerns and reservations. 4. Prepare for common interview questions. 5. Line up your questions for the interviewer. 6. Practice, practice, practice!!! 7. Score a success in the first five minutes. 8. Get on the same side as the interviewer. 9. Be assertive and take responsibility for the interview. 10. Be ready to handle illegal and inappropriate questions. 11. Make your selling points clear. 12. Think positive! 13. Close on a positive note. 14. Send thank-you notes. 15. Bring a copy of your resume to every interview. 16. Don't worry about sounding "canned". 17. Make the most of the "Tell me about yourself" question. 18. Speak the right body language. 19. Be ready for "behavior-based" interviews. 20. Don't give up! Taken from Career Leader website. Quote
Batman_fan Posted April 2, 2017 Author Report Posted April 2, 2017 Tip for contractors - Don't submit your 6-7 pages resume when applying for FT. 1 page is more than enough and 2 means you are stretching. Even Sunder Pichai doesn't have resume more than 1 page. Quote
